Ravin® Upgrades
The Ravin crossbows, loved by many, offer ample room for customization, optimization, and upgrades. For all current series (R9, R15, R10, R20, R26, and R29), we offer a range of accessories, including AeroBolt®, Firenock®, Titanium Fastener Upgrade Kits, Hollow Titanium Axles, and AeroRest™.
The Firenock Arrow
All Ravin crossbows, except the R10 and R26 (20"), require a minimum of a 21" projectile when using a Firenock Ravin AeroRest; however, that minimum changes. In addition, we suggest a 22" projectile for best accuracy.
Custom-built, the Firenock AeroBolt Series (II & III) crossbow arrows can be cut down to any length and are thus compatible with any Ravin crossbow. Additionally, all AeroBolts, upon purchase, can be built for a 2-, 3-, or 4-vane configuration. For those who want to use the Ravin for ultra big game, the AeroBolt II Dragon Slayer is also available. From our research, the Ravin OEM arrow rest is known to handle a maximum arrow weight of no more than 450 grains. To use these big game crossbow arrows, which can weigh upwards of 1,200 grains, Firenock AeroRest for Ravin is recommended.
Note: Like all standard crossbow arrows on the market, the internal diameter of all AeroBolts is 0.300" for simple and easy nock style and crossbow exchanges.
Firenock Nock
Firenock offers more than 17 nock styles. Of those, two polycarbonate versions (U and C) are well-suited for serving sizes often found on Ravin Crossbows. As always, to ensure the system shoots correctly, the nock must clip onto the string perfectly with no less than 0.02" holding. Understanding how a crossbow's serving size affects your Firenock nock's clip capacity can help you make a reliable choice. For any Ravin crossbows that utilize their standard 0.134" OD serving, Firenock "U" can be used, but it is not ideal due to its barely having any holding power. Suppose the string has been used with the Ravin orange nock, over a short period of time. In that case, the string usually deforms to a tear drop shape with the widest area to about 0.127". When the bow string is at that stage, the Firenock "C" style nock becomes the correct choice if Firenock nock is your choice. That's said, we at Firenock believe based on the Ravin design and demand from the nock, a string of center serving of 0.137" is ideal, when one decides to use that specification string and Firenock U style nock, Ravin orange nock should no longer be used as it will sure to deform the string due to its undersized throat.
For the Ravin Crossbow featuring the R500 and R470 designs, we at Firenock only recommend a metal nock. That extreme angle and high-power limbs of those crossbows will pinch and crack the polycarbonate-based nock from Firenock in our test. Our experience with these models shows that selecting the correct nock is crucial for safety and performance, so trust our expertise. We have discovered that there are at least four string specifications for the above bows, and at any time, it can be any one of them. They are 0.127" and 0.133", with two different tension settings on the serving. We call it tight and loose. To accommodate most conditions, Firenock currently offers three metal nocks that address these variations. The C+ fits a 0.127" center serving; U+ and U+5 are to fit a 0.133" center serving. The "5" is added as some 0.133" serving are super hard/tight served, which makes the standard opening of 0.123" too tight to clip over, and we make it wider to 0.128", hence the extension of "5" was added! We suggest a tightly served 0.133" center serving and U+5 as the best combination for those series of Ravin Crossbows.
Note:Unlike a plastic/Polybonacte nock, a metal nock does not give. Make sure the center string holding space of the nock of your choice matches your center string size. The increase in string serving pressure is necessary to provide a more stable, rounder center serving. It also makes the center serving harder and not able to give much. One may need to increase the space for the nock throat to allow the nock to clip onto the string. One can do this using a fine nail filer and remove some material from the nock throat opening. DO NOT OVERDO THIS, or the nock will no longer be able to clip onto the string.
Firenock styles are offered in a plethora of colors. With up to three options for the color of nock and six options for the color of the LED, there is a total of up to 18 color combinations for each style. Additionally, there are up to three different functions of light: solidly lit, solidly lit for 6 seconds and then blink, and auto shut-off 17 seconds after fired.
Titanium Fastener Kit
Here, while its light weight offers a 50% reduction in weight, titanium's rigidity is the lesser-known but much more significant characteristic. Although admittedly acknowledged and employed for years, the application of it within the archery sphere has only been correctly apprehended by Firenock. See, with such rigidity, overall vibration is minimized, which leads to the consumption of excess energy. Why might you want to have excess energy absorbed? Because then your bow will shake less and shoot more calmly.
Hollow Titanium Axles
An option available at purchase of a Titanium Fastener Upgrade Kit for Ravin are our custom hollow titanium axles. Why should you purchase a kit? Well, consider this–your cam is the focal point of the kinetic energy being exerted on your crossbow and at 400+ fps, there’s a lot of that energy to go around. With our upgrade, our kit alone would reduce close to 420 grains in moving mass.
Twin Pulley Cable System
Last year, after Firenock ventured into custom upgrades for the Ravin Crossbow Series, one of the main requests from users was a solution to the Ravin cable stretch issues. Our licensing and production of this double U.S. patented Pulley & Cable Set Kit is our response.

This kit utilizes two US patents owned by Scorpyd Crossbows and licensed by Firenock (US Patent: 9,243,861 and 9,234,719). Designed to bolt on with zero modifications to your bow, the full kit replaces all four of the Ravin factory cables and involves two custom 420 Stainless 53 HRC hardened parts, four titanium screws, and two cables.
There are many fantastic benefits to this dual US patented design. Most significantly, the upper and lower cables are self-timed. This means that cam lean is virtually eliminated as cable length differences are the main culprit of cable stretch. Additionally, the stress from working to sync up and keep all four cables from twisting is significantly reduced. Note finally that as cable length increases, shock absorption does also, leading to an ultimately quieter bow.

Cable Built Specifications:
