Martinez, Javier
| Bio | Born in Madrid, Spain, in 1970, Javier Martinez has been passionate about archery for as long as he can remember. Javier has always focused his archery talents on FITA competitions and his friends will tell you his quest for the best shooting set up is a daily obsession. He works as a nurse at the primary care for the community last 3 years and going on, previously 14 years at the intensive care and emergency halls for adults and pediatric surgical area of a major hospital in Madrid city. He is currently a staff shooter for ELITE Archery, VAPOR TRAIL strings, TRUBALL releases, SPECIALTY ARCHERY peeps, CARBOFAST stabilizers, PINWHEEL SOFTWARE for archers. He shoots competitively at FITA national and international events lasts 25 years continously. Started shooting when he was 14 years old, now 39, without missing any year in between. Made a parallel career as a nurse, National Coach (certified level 2), leisure bowhunter and dedicated FITA spots shooter. Major awards and recognitions are as follows: -National senior compound state teams FITA indoor Bronze medalist 2010. -National senior compound individual FITA outdoor Bronze medalist 2009. -National senior compound state teams FITA indoor Silver medalist 2009. -National Runnerup senior compound teams twice (2002, 2003). -Personal Best scores compound: 90m, 337; 70m, 351; 50m, 348; 30m, 359. -National 90m record holder with 337 points in 2002-2003. -National senior compound 90m record holder with 337 points (2001). -National senior compound whole FITA record holder (144 arrows: 36 at 90m, 36 at 70m, 36 at 70m, 36 at 30m) with 1376 points (2001). -National Champion senior compound teams twice (2000, 2001). -Placed 3rd on the Spanish trials for the World Championships, senior compound, in Pekin (2001). -National compound teams record holder (1999) and Bronze medalist at Turkish Grand Prix teams event. -Spanish compound National Team member at several European Grand Prix events and World Championships in 1999. -Personal Best score olimpic recurve, 1293 points (1996). -National Champion senior recurve teams (1993, 1994, 1996). -National Champion senior recurve twice (1990, 1994). -Placed 4th at the olimpic trials for Barcelona `92 Olimpic Games where spanish team took gold medal on the teams event. -National Champion junior recurve 1988. -National Runnerup junior recurve 1987. -Madrid State Champion under 16 recurve 1985. |
