  Aerovane™ FAQ (Frequent Asked Questions)

After 8 months of Research and Development and many hours of input by the best minds in the aerodynamics world, Firenock, LLC is ready to show the world the next generation arrow fin.  Aerovane™ is trademarked and patent pending in the USA.
  1. Extremely low flight noise level - The unique airfoil design assures virtually silent arrow flight.
  2. Minimum drag – The unique airfoil design allows for straight fletching. Tuning is done by pointing the arrow away from you, looking down, from the top right to bottom left, the vanes look more like a landing planes wing. The current consensus is that, the higher the arrow speed, the faster and more stable the arrow should fly. Note: Aerovane is not recommended to be fletched helical or at any angle at all or it will generate drag and arrow speed will suffer significantly.
  3. True airfoil - Aerovane has a true whole-piece airfoil; with continuous change of thickness and curved surface that improves flight path and speed.  Do you know an owl is the only animal that can fly with no sound? Aerovane's special front round area resembles an owl's wing and at the same time it creates rotation via circular lift.
  4. Built-in Wind channel for structural flexibility when fletched on different diameter arrows.
  5. Better down range speed - Better than most other vanes on the market with arrow speed not slower than 220 fps.
  6. Durable and hard construction – Constructed with a unique material which is harder than any other major national brands' vane.
  7. Easy to glue - Chemically formulated to easily bond with most fletching glue.
  8. High compatibility - Will work with most crossbows (for fletched straight type arrows only).
  9. More features: Minimum delta wing surface vortex, Minimum 1st or 2nd stage turbulence, Minimum wow and flutter due to structural integrity and material hardness (true ultra-slim pyramid design).
  10. Works extremely well with Whisker Biscuits. Aerovane has a thick frontal end that will open the bristles and allow the remainder of the vane to pass through the bristle without creating additional drag.
  11. With a 2-vane configuration, Aerovane will create enough lift for all field points and mechanical broad heads.
  12. With a 3-vane configuration, Aerovane will create enough circular lift to stabilize most fixed blade broad heads.
  13. From field reports, we have learned that Aerovanes should be installed as straight as possible. Jo-Jan and Bitzenburger straight fletch, with the following modifications, works very well.
Aerovane™ specifications:
  • Height: 14.14mm / 0.557"
  • Length: 93.77mm / 3.69"
  • Weight: only 11.3 grains +/- 0.2 grains

From the field report, we learn the key to installing Aerovane is to be as straight as possible is the key.
Currently, Bitzenburger stright claim fletch with the following modifications work very well.
Material List:
  • about 4" long 1/16 square brass bar
  • Goat Tough Gel (or any super glue gel you like to use)
